What is number concept?
Number concepts include the innate ability to distinguish between sets of objects. For example, babies and children alike can differentiate between a collection of four pencils and five pencils: they know that there are more in the latter set than in the former.

Number concepts reflect the whole numbers (positive integers), zero, and negative numbers (see number line here). A knowledge of mathematics usually implies an understanding of these concepts.
What is prime factorization?
Prime factorization is the process of breaking down a number into prime number parts. For example, breaking down 24 into 2 times 2 times 3).
All numbers are composed of one or more prime numbers (2,3,5,7,11…), which means all whole numbers can be broken down into primes.
One way to find the prime factorization of a number is to use the division method. For example, 24 can be broken down into 2 times 2 times 3 since 24/2 = 12 which equals 2 times 12 which equals 2 times 6 which equals 3
Prime numbers are numbers that have only themselves and 1 as factors.
1, 3, 5, 7, 11, 13, 17, 19, 23 and 29 are the first eight prime numbers.
The rule for finding a number’s prime factorization is any number that has more than one digit contains at least two of the same digit (e.g., 24 contains 2 times 2).
The smallest whole number with special properties is 0 (zero). It is an even number because there are zero factors of 2. Also, it is divisible by everything because there are zero factors of every integer except 1.
The prime factorization for a number can be applied to adding fractions with unlike denominators when multiplying fractions.
For example, the prime factorization for 12 = 2 x 2 x 3 and the prime factorization for 16 = 4 x 4. When multiplying 8/8 x 12/2, the common factors are 2 and 3 since they are both in both prime factorizations. The result is 24/8 which equals 3.
What are multiples?
Multiples are basically clones of the original, so there may be anywhere from one to thousands of clones.
At birth, these clones are taken by an agency and trained to do deadly jobs for the government. There are three different types of multiples or clones: trainers, breeder dams , and soldiers . They all look alike , but are still capable of differentiating each other .
For example, maybe there are 10 breeder dams. Each one will have 6 children. So all in all there are 60 clones, not including the original.
Trainers train new recruits how to do deadly jobs for the government. They teach them how to use weapons and how to fight with their bare hands.
Breeder dams are just that, they breed the soldiers to grow up and become stronger than normal people. They also give birth to them. When they do give birth, there is a one quarter chance of twins, one half chance of triplets, and a three quarters chance of quadruplets.
What is the least common multiple?
The LCM of two integers, also known as the lowest common multiple. In our case, this means 50 because it divides both 5 and 10.

The truth is that math skills are required in today’s world. Here are several key reasons why;

These days, everyone has to use mathematics in daily life. Calculating the tip at a restaurant, monthly installments on your car or home loan, figuring out how much car you can afford given your budget will all require good arithmetic skills.
If you need to know how much you should save for retirement, you need to be comfortable with working with fractions and percentages.
Math Skills are Required in the Workplace
Modern businesses have to use mathematics skills for a variety of reasons. For instance, a car dealership uses arithmetic to calculate monthly installments that customers will pay on a car loan. A hardware store uses math skills to count inventory and prepare an invoice for sales.
If you want to own a business, good math skills are one of the basic requirements for holding down many jobs in today’s world .
Math Skills are Required in Science and Technology
Mathematical understanding is central to science and technology. For instance, engineers need to understand how numbers can be manipulated algebraically in order to solve problems. Researchers in physics, biology or chemistry need to have good arithmetic skills .
Math Skills are Required in the Arts and Entertainment
In acting, mathematics is used to calculate lines of a play. In music, practicing playing an instrument requires doing arithmetic drills regularly. In dancing, one has to know how fractions of increments of time and space combine.
Math Skills are Required in Other Fields
The use of mathematics in different fields is best illustrated by the following examples. If you want to be a chemist, you have to know how molecules are made up of atoms which are the basic building blocks .
On the other hand, if you want to be a medical doctor, you should be able to deal with measurements and probability .
Math skills needed for future jobs?
The U.S. Department of Labor projects that by 2020, there will be 2 million more jobs in STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) than qualified graduates to fill them.
That means that today’s students need to get off to a strong start with good STEM education if they want to pursue these careers.
However how important are mathematical skills for students looking at these jobs ? The Wall Street Journal asked STEM recruiters what skills are most important for success, and this is what they said :
- Critical thinking/problem solving skills
- Ability to work in a team
- Communication skills
- Ability to write reports/white papers/proposals
Math skills were not listed among the top skills recruiters look for. It is clear that STEM job candidates that only have strong math skills are unqualified because other important skill sets, such as communication skills and team working, are just as important if not more so than pure mathematical knowledge.
