Kids Smoking Bed Bugs Youtube, Kids Smoking Bed Bugs To Get High

Bed bugs are definitely a hot topic on the street these days. With infestations cropping up left and right, these critters are getting harder and harder to avoid. But is it possible that your kids are bringing bed bugs into your home and using them to get high?

This video depicting a news story about bed bugs being smoked has gone viral this week, appearing on LiveLeak, YouTube, and all over social media. The video claims that bed bugs contain ingredients that create hallucinogenic symptoms when smoked or injected. It goes on to warn that smoking bed bugs is all the rage among teens and tweens.

Seems legit, right? But before you grab the bong and change your name to Snoop Bugg, listen closely to the video. Notice that none of the people on-screen say the words “bed bugs”. Strange, right?

The first person seen talking about the drug, saying it feels like “walking through wet concrete”, is alleged former user Shane Watson. Here’s a screenshot of Shane telling his story in the bed bug smoking video:

And here’s Shane again, talking about the effects of “dabbing”, or smoking butane hash oil:

Is it possible that Shane managed to get himself hooked on two different street drugs in less than the time it takes to change a shirt?

Probably not.

That second screenshot was taken from the original source of most of that LiveLeak video’s footage: an ABC15 Arizona report on “The dangers of ‘dabbing””. This report on the rise in butane hash oil among Arizona teens was posted on YouTube in 2013:

Similarities between the two videos are immediately obvious. It’s the same people describing the same chemical effects, only they’re talking about a completely different drug.

The bed bug infestation may be a real epidemic, but the rampant rise of smoking them is nothing more than a hoax brought on by clever editing and a gullible LiveLeak crowd. Naturally, we don’t recommend that you smoke bed bugs; even if you are looking for a high, the most you’d get is probably a headache.
