Selena Marie Gomez was born on July 22, 1992 in Grand Prairie, Texas to father Ricardo and former stage actress Amanda. The actress was named after former Tejano singer Selena Quintanilla. She has two younger half-sisters: Gracie and Victoria.
Selena had a hard childhood; her mother had her when she was just 16 years old and her parents split when she was young. Her mother worked hard to provide for the family while growing up, though they often had very little.
