Oleksandr Kostyliev, better known as S1mple on social media, is a Ukranian professional Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO) player known to be one of the best CS:GO players in the history of the game. S1mple started playing Counter-Strike as a four-year-old when his brother suggested he try out the game and later picked up Counter-Strike: Global Offensive upon the game’s release. 

The gamer started playing CS:GO on a professional level in 2013 and has played with a number of professional organizations, including Team Liquid and Natus Vincere. In 2018, S1mple was ranked the number one Counter-Strike player in the world by HLTV and many continue to regard him as one of the best-ever players of CS:GO. 

Oleksandr Kostyliev, better known as S1mple on social media, was born on October 1, 1997 in Kiev, Ukraine. 

As of September 2021, S1mple has more than 1.3 million followers on Instagram, 487,400 followers on Twitter, 2.6 million followers on Twitch, and 28,700 subscribers on YouTube. 

S1mple started playing Counter-Strike as a four-year-old when his brother suggested he try out the game and later picked up Counter-Strike: Global Offensive upon the game’s release. The gamer started playing CS:GO on a professional level in 2013 when he signed with the Ukranian team LAN DODGERS. Shortly after, he signed with Courage Gaming and then in 2014, Hellraisers. 

In 2015, the organization Hellraisers released S1mple after he made inflammatory comments about Germans; in addition, he faced an ESL wire ban for cheating. The ban was extended into 2016 due to ban evasion. S1mple later admitted the ban was due to cheating in Counter-Strike. He later signed with Flipsid3 Tactics. The player became known for being a rude or toxic player to his teammates. 

S1mple moved to America in 2016 and started playing Counter-Strike for Team Liquid. The gamer was first signed to the team after he developed a relationship with one of the Team Liquid players at a tournament. At his first game with Team Liquid, S1mple surprised everyone by qualifying for the semifinals of MLG Major Championship: Columbus before falling to Luminosity Gaming. 

S1mple helped lead Team Liquid to become the first North American team to reach a major final at ESL One Cologne 2016. The player later left Team Liquid and replaced Danylo “Zeus” Teslenko on Natus Vincere, an eSports organization. He signed with them in 2016 and has played with them ever since. 

Natus Vincere finished in the semi-finals at ELEAGUE Major: Boston 2018 and went on to win two second place finishes at Starladder & i-League StarSeries Season 4 and Dreamhack Masters Marseille. The team, with s1mple, later won StarSeries & i-League Season 5, CAC 2018, and ESL One Cologne 2018. S1mple took home the MVP award at StarSeries and Dreamhack Marseille, even though the team did not win. 

In 2018, S1mple was ranked the number one Counter-Strike player in the world by HLTV. 

In 2019, Natus Vincere continued their winning streak and s1mple would win MVP at StarSeries Season 7. Many continue to regard him as one of the most accomplished players in the world.
