Nikita Dragun is a Belgian-born American influencer best known for her beauty videos on YouTube, her activism for the transgender community and her popular line of make-up titled Dragun Beauty. Nikita first came out as a transgender woman in college and has since become one of the most-popular beauty influencers and transgender woman on YouTube. In 2019, she launched her own make-up line titled Dragun Beauty and sold out of every product within hours.

Nikita Dragun was born on January 31, 1996 in Belgium. However, Nikita later moved to the U.S. and attended high school in Virginia. Nikita has Vietnamese and Mexican parents. In college, Nikita came out as a trans woman. 

As of October 2020, Nikita Dragun has more than 8.4 million followers on Instagram, 1.9 million followers on Twitter, 3.66 million subscribers on YouTube, and 8.4 million followers on TikTok. 

In college, Nikita came out as a trans woman and has since spoken openly about her transition and her journey. In one video, Nikita said she got a fake ID with the name Nicole on it and was recognized as female. 

Nikita started her YouTube channel in February 2013 and began building her following as a beauty influencer. It was only when she started getting brand deals, though, that she started to take it seriously. I started to get little brand deals around that time… That was also when I decided to start taking Instagram and YouTube seriously,” Nikita said. 

By 2015, Nikita had moved to Los Angeles to attend college and continue her YouTube channel. She got her business degree from the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising. At the time, Nikita had become somewhat of a known influencer, and was sometimes used as an example in class. “I was very Hannah Montana at the time. I would be in class, and we’d talk about influencers and brand deals, and my face would pop up on the screen and they’d start talking about me! They had no idea that I was sitting in the class. I never wanted anyone to know,” Nikita said in a video. 

Since becoming an influencer, Nikita has had a series of high-profile brand deals. In 2019, Nikita announced her own make-up line titled Dragun Beauty. The line is meant for the mainstream market as well as the transgender community. Nikita said she wanted to launch her line independently so she could ensure the products were vegan and cruelty-free. Every product sold out within 24 hours. 

In an interview for her new make-up line that same year with the LGBTQ station Channel Q, Dragun said that her journey as a transgender woman was the source of her inspiration for the make-up line and her products. 

In 2019, Nikita announced her own docu-series on Snapchat titled “Nikita Unfiltered.” The series follows Nikita on her search for love and follows a different path in her career. In addition, it documents her approach to fame as a trans woman. The series premiered in 2020. 

Nikita has also been featured in a number of music videos, including “Heart to Break” by Kim Petra and “Baby, I’m Jealous” by Bebe Rexha and Doja Cat. 

Nikita has also spoken out about issues concerning the transgender community. L Brands chief marketing officer Ed Razek once said that trans woman should not be included in the annual Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show only because “the show is a fantasy.” In response, Nikita posted a video of herself modeling their lingerie and argued that in fact trans women could convey fantasy.
