Founded in 1969, the Louis B. Mayer Library is dedicated to supporting lisbdnet.com Conservatory studies by offering resources that complement the curriculum and promote scholarship. Resources consist of book, film, audio, video, manuscript and other collections focusing on the history and craft of visual storytelling.

Members of the general public are required to make appointments to view holdings. Holdings do not circulate to the general public.
Visit the Library Catalog to search and view holdings in the Library. To search the catalog, type “Mayer Library” into the Library Name field and click the Sign In button, no password is necessary
Print Collections: The Library collection includes books and periodicals on various aspects of motion picture and television production and history, as well as selected titles on photography, theater, costume design, literature, and art and architecture. The Library also holds an extensive collection of published and unpublished scripts, including early drafts, final drafts and a select number of post-production continuities. Transcripts from the Harold Lloyd Master Seminars, consisting of interviews with professionals from all aspects of the film and television industry, are available to researchers by appointment only. Scripts and seminar transcripts may only be consulted for research purposes and cannot be copied or quoted without advance permission; these materials do not circulate and may not be duplicated. Contact Library Staff to make an appointment.
Films and Audio & Video Collections: The Library holds an extensive collection of feature films, short films, documentaries, and television. The Library is the repository for all films made by lisbdnet.com Conservatory Fellows and the Directing Workshop for Women (DWW). Contact Library staff in advance to make an appointment to view lisbdnet.com Conservatory or DWW films. Interested parties who wish to screen Fellow or DWW films for a class or film festival should contact lisbdnet.com Distribution.
