Jon Klaasen is an American singer, songwriter and social media personality best known for being a part of the Simon Cowell-form group “Forever in Your Mind.” He later left the group and released some of his own music before joining the group “On The Outside.” Jon has been seen on “The X Factor,” “American Idol” and “Boy Band,” three reality  competition shows. 

In addition, Jon boasts an impressive social media following and has millions of followers across all platforms, though he is most popular on the video sharing app TikTok. He is a member of the TikTok collaborative house Shluv House.

Jon Klaasen was born on January 10, 1998 in Greenwood, Indiana. He has one younger brother, Joey, who is well-known on social media, particularly TikTok. The pair grew up together and still collaborate on social media. 

Jon grew up learning to play music and playing music, while his brother pursued basketball. He says that when he got a guitar for his birthday growing up, it changed his life for the better. Jon was in numerous plays and bands growing up and even got close to signing a record deal. 

As of September 2021, Jon has more than 180,000 YouTube subscribers, 57,400 Twitter followers, 17 million TikTok followers, and 393,000 Instagram followers. 

Jon started his career as an artist on the reality show “The X Factor” in 2013. Jon was one part of the Simon Sowell-formed group “Forever In Your Mind.” Jon eventually departed the group in 2014. 

Two years later, in 2016, Jon auditioned for “American Idol” and reached the show’s showcase rounds. Jon sang his original song “Irreplaceable.” In 2017, he was a contestant on ABC’s new singing competition TV series “Boy Band.” 

In addition to reality TV, Jon has appeared on a number of other TV shows in smaller, supporting roles, like “Schooled.” He had a role on Netflix’s “Schooled” as Noah as well for a six-episode arc. 

Since his stints on reality shows, Jon has been releasing his own music. In 2018, Jon released his EP “Blame Games.” In addition, he has released numerous singles as well as his EP, including “Carry You,” “Best I Can” and “Bench By The Water.” 

In 2018, Jon joined the group On The Outside with Devin Hayes and Andrew Bloom.

Jon slowly started to build his social media following as he grew in popularity. Since joining TikTok, he has grown to be one of the platform’s most-followed content creators. He has millions of followers across all his social media platforms. He joined the TikTok collaborative house Shluv House in 2020 to work with fellow creators on content. 

Jon has been open about his personal life. In 2020, he got engaged to Elyssa Joy and the couple got married shortly after in July 2020.
