It is generally argued that a golfers irons should be an extension of him/herself. So how did 2013 fair with all the iron sets that came out?
I have hit just about every set of irons put out from the major manufacturers this year and this is how I felt they ranked. I’d also love to hear your thoughts on the list so be sure to comment below with what you think should/should not be on this list.
Đang xem: Best players irons 2013
Callaway Xhot Pro Irons
The Xhot Pro irons have a dangerous combination of feel and length. They are truly a players iron for those in transition from higher to lower handicaps. You would never believe they aren’t forged.
Ping G25 Irons
Ping certainly stepped up their game with the G25 irons. They have created an iron that inspires confidence in distance, forgiveness, and feel with the less intrusive sole widths and perimeter weighting. The G25’s are essentially a game improvement iron, trapped in a players iron look. If you are in the market for a set of irons that are easy to hit and easy on the eyes, take a few looks and swings with the G25’s.
Nike VR Forged Pro Combos
The biggest disappointment with the new VR Forged Pro Combos are that there are no longer pure blades in the 8-PW slots. I think that would have brought these irons to epic levels. The 3-6 irons are so good that they almost don’t belong in a players iron set.
Taylormade Rocketbladez Tour Irons
While Taylormade may have some unique marketing techniques that may not sit well with many golfers, you cannot dismiss the quality of product in the Rocketbladez Tour irons. A combination of sound, feel, distance, and accuracy make these irons a contender for best all-around irons of the year.
Mizuno MP-54 Irons
Mizuno took the best of what they do, forged irons, and made them better. Hitting the MP-54 gives a reminiscent feel of the (in my opinion all time greatest irons) MP-59 series and added extra forgiveness. These irons could be used by a high or low handicapper with pure satisfaction. These irons are so soft that you will feel like you are diving into a bed of pillows.
